Tony Judt
Tony Judt, whose essays I much admire, passed away today. He was suffering from a severe neorological disorder that incapacitated his speech abilities; writing was increasingly difficult too. He wrote a touching and observant piece called 'Words' on th eloss of language at all levels. Read it here from th e pages of the New York Review of Books
