World literature
Each year we’re asked to contribute to the Spectrum yearbook for an overview of literature in English– and this year too we’ve just completed the survey for 2010. It’s a particularly challenging undertaking, once you realize that the task encompasses signalling the most important trends in what’s basically world literature. Part of our job then is to keep track of reviews in the Times Literary Supplement, the New York Review of Books, and the London Review of Books, plus the occasional Sunday paper. And lots of reading, of course.
